A bookkeeper is a literally a ‘keeper of the books’, or financial records of a business.
Institute of Certified Bookkeepers members, like Essential Office Solutions, have proven that they have performed bookkeeping services at a significant level for a period exceeding two years and have a proven level of bookkeeping knowledge.
Every business, no matter how large or small, is required by law to ‘keep books’. This involves the recording of the financial transactions of a business, whether manually into ledgers or by entering everything onto a computer.
A good bookkeeper will ensure you have efficient accounting systems in place, which means you’ll be able to spend more time doing what you love and less time pouring over your books.
Most small business owners don’t have the time or knowledge to effectively keep on top of their accounting and meet their compliance obligations.
A small business owner’s decision to outsource their bookkeeping and administrative tasks, freeing him or her to spend more time growing their business, is a savvy choice – and one that will save the business time and money in the long run.
Yes, absolutely. We will happily sign a confidentially agreement that states we will never disclose information about your business. It’s actually a legal requirement that we must keep our clients’ financial information confidential.
While it’s true some accountants offer bookkeeping services, generally most prefer to focus on the bigger picture processes such as tax management and financial planning. Accountants usually charge considerably more bookkeepers do for the same services.
Some data entry people can help you the administration and reconciliation of your accounts, but they are much more limited in what they are qualified to do.
A bookkeeper administers the day-to-day management of your accounting, which can include invoicing, preparing payments, bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll processing, preparing budgets, cash flow statements and management reports and filling monthly and quarterly BAS / IAS returns.
Your bookkeeper then passes this information on to your accountant, who will use it to prepare, lodge and file your yearly tax returns.
At Essential Office Solutions, we have a proud history of collaborating with accountants in order to help you complete your books and meet your compliance obligations quickly and efficiently.
Most of our team have previously worked with tax accountants or agents, so we speak the same language and can highlight any items that may need further investigation.
Our end-of-year Accountants Pack includes all the essentials he or she needs to lodge your company tax, neatly presented in a format that’s designed to save him or her time – and save you money.
